This cherry blossom resin bird holds real dried cherry blossoms through the centre of the body, soft pink through to deep rose, poured by hand in clear resin in Cold Lake, Alberta. A dried bloom and a round piece of dark pink glass sit in the head, and real wheat dyed a soft coral runs the length of the tail.

It is the cherry blossom that sets these apart. The blooms dry to a translucent pink that lights up from behind, which is why these birds look their best where the sun can reach them.

Features:

  • Real cherry blossoms: Dried whole and set in clear resin through the centre of the body, so the petals keep their shape and their translucency
  • Coral wheat tail: Real wheat, dyed a soft coral, laid the full length of the tail so the colour carries past the body
  • Pink glass in the head: A dried bloom sits in the head alongside a solid round piece of dark pink glass, which catches light differently from the petals around it
  • Lights from behind: Cherry blossom petals are thin enough to glow when daylight passes through them
  • Four available: Each one poured separately, so the blossoms land differently in every bird

A cherry blossom bird suits a windowsill above all, where the light can pass through the petals, though it sits just as well on a bookshelf, a desk or a bedside table. It also makes a gentle gift for a spring birthday, a new home, a wedding, or for anyone who waits all year for the blossom to come out. Keep it out of long direct sun to protect the petal colour, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth. No water or cleaners on the resin.

Because each cherry blossom resin bird is poured by hand with real dried flowers, the one that arrives will be similar to the photos rather than identical. The placement of the blossoms, the depth of the pink and the way the wheat sits in the tail will vary from bird to bird.
