What makes this boreal forest window art different from a botanical print?

This piece contains real foraged mushrooms, moss, lichen, ferns, wild stems and seed heads preserved in clear resin. Its two-layer pour gives the forest floor and standing botanicals visible depth, rather than presenting them as a flat pressing.

What are the dimensions and how many panes does it have?

The window measures 15 inches high by 11 inches wide and has four panes in a natural wood frame. The frame has a whitewashed, time-worn texture.

How does the artwork look when light passes through it?

The translucent panes let morning or late-afternoon sunlight pass through, lifting the greens, while a subtle holographic background catches the light. The piece can be hung on a wall or displayed on a shelf, mantel or windowsill.

How should I care for the resin forest window art?

Keep it out of long periods of direct sun to help protect the botanical colour. Dust carefully because the botanicals have a three-dimensional surface.

Is this one-of-a-kind forest window available again, and is shipping included?

This is a one-of-a-kind piece made with real foraged materials, so it cannot be remade; the window shown in the photos is the one that will arrive. It is the first of a four-window series, and free shipping is included.

I received two resin birds with blue flowers and two keychains with forget-me-not flowers, and they are absolutely beautiful! The craftsmanship is stunning — even more lovely in person. The seller was an absolute delight to deal with: helpful, professional, and kind. My items arrived quickly and were packaged with such care. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!

The Dragonfly Pane, first of four boreal windows

This boreal forest window art holds a piece of the forest floor behind four panes, poured by hand in clear resin in Cold Lake, Alberta. Every fern, mushroom, moss and seed head was gathered within walking distance of my own door and dried through the summer to hold its colour.

This is the first of four. Each window in the series shares the same frame, and each one holds a different gathering from the boreal forest, so no two panes repeat.

The panes are poured in two layers rather than one. The lower layer carries the forest floor, the mushrooms and moss and fallen wood, and the upper layer carries the ferns and stems standing above it. Walk past it and the two layers shift against each other the way real undergrowth does.

🍄 Real foraged forest mushrooms, moss and lichen along the forest floor
🌿 Hand gathered ferns, cedar and wild stems standing through the panes
🪰 An ethically sourced dragonfly and bumblebee
✨ A soft holographic shimmer in the background, like dew catching light
🪟 Four panes in a natural wood frame, 15" H x 11" W

Features:

• Two layer pour: The forest floor is poured first and the standing botanicals second, which gives the scene real depth rather than a flat pressing
• Foraged, not bought: Mushrooms, moss, lichen, ferns and wild stems gathered by hand through the summer and dried to hold their colour
• Ethically sourced insects: A dragonfly and a bumblebee, found already fallen and preserved rather than caught
• Holographic background: A subtle shimmer worked behind the botanicals that catches light as you move past
• First of four: Same frame, different forest in every window, and only one of each will be made

Hang it where the light can reach it. The panes are translucent, so morning or late afternoon sun passes straight through and lifts the greens, and the holographic background catches at the same time. It works on a wall, propped on a shelf or a mantel, or leaning against a windowsill.

It suits anyone who walks in the woods, anyone homesick for the north, and anyone who would rather have a piece of real forest on the wall than a print of one. Keep it out of long direct sun to protect the botanical colour, and dust carefully as the botanicals are "3D"

Because this window was poured once with real foraged material, it cannot be remade. The window in these photos is the one that will arrive.

Naturally Brilliant Clarity

Premium Calgary-Made Resin

In Case You Were Wondering..

Yes, absolutely. We never use plastic or silk substitutes. Every piece features genuine botanicals, mosses, and forest treasures hand-foraged from the Alberta Boreal forest, ensuring you are bringing a real piece of the wild into your home.

These pieces look most magical when they catch the light! A windowsill, mantel, or bookshelf is perfect. While our resin is high-quality and UV-resistant, we recommend avoiding 24/7 direct, intense sunlight to keep the natural botanical colors vibrant for as long as possible.

Maintenance is simple. To remove dust or fingerprints and restore that crystal-clear, glass-like glow, simply wipe the surface with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that might dull the polished finish.

Our resin is designed to be sturdy and heat-resistant once fully cured, making it suitable for tea lights or warm mugs. However, to preserve the clarity of the piece, we recommend avoiding contact with open high-heat flames or boiling pots directly from the stove.

We use professional-grade, Calgary-made resin specifically formulated for its high UV resistance. Unlike lower-quality resins that can yellow quickly, our art-grade resin is designed to stay crystal-clear for years. To keep your piece looking its absolute best, we simply recommend keeping it away from windows with constant, intense direct sun—just as you would with a fine painting or photograph.

One of the best features of resin is its incredible durability—it is much stronger and more impact-resistant than glass or ceramic. While it should be treated with the care of any fine art, it isn’t fragile and won't shatter easily if bumped. We take great care in nesting your decor in protective, eco-friendly packaging so it arrives safely and ready to be enjoyed for a lifetime.
